Kentia Palm

Kentia Palm, Paradise Palm
Howea forsteriana
Light Level: Medium
Water Level: Medium
Kentia palm is a good light indicator. It does best in medium light; the more filtered light it gets, the more fronds it will produce. If light is too low, the stems will become stretched and there will little or no undergrowth of new stems.
Country of Origin
Lord Howe Island, near Australia
Maintenance Tips
Kentia palm does not like wet feet! Do not keep the root ball moist or wet all the time, otherwise rotting will occur.
Take care to not overwater in low light or underwater in high light.
Pests and Problems
Signs that this palm is overwatered are when the fronds get yellowing tips, then yellow speckling, followed by browning. During the wintertime, be especially careful not to over water your Kentia.
When this palm is underwatered, it will develop tips that are brown, and the fronds will not be as erect and possibly leaning.
