Dracaena is a genus of over 40 species and is one of the most popular plants used in interiorscapes. The name Dracaena is derived from the Greek word “drakaina”, a female dragon. The link between plant and beast is the resinous red gum produced when the stem is cut which, when thickened, is supposed to resemble dragon’s blood.
Dracaenas are one of the plants used in the NASA Clean Air Study and has shown to help remove Formaldehyde.
